THE KEY MILESTONE ANNIVERSARIES…
100 Years of 1000 MIGLIA
In 1922, the Italian Grand Prix was moved from Brescia to the Autodromo Nazionale Monza. With the birth of the Le Mans 24hr in 1923 and in response to losing the Italian Grand Prix, a group of entreprneurial motor sport enthusiasts known as the “4 musketeers” created 1 1000 Mile race from Brescia to Rome and back – on open public roads.
In 1927, the 1000 Miglia was born. Becoming one of the greatest endurance races of all time.
80 YEARS of FERRARI
Enzo Ferrari enjoyed greater success managing a Race Team, the Scuderia Ferrari for Alfa Romeo than he did as a driver. He won the 1000 Miglia 6 times during his time with Alfa Romeo between 1933-1938. But after falling out with Managing Director, Enzo walked from Alfa Romeo in 1939 along with a strict 4-year non-compete clause.

1928 Mercedes-Benz 36/220 S-Type Sports Tourer
The ‘S’ was created in a magical period for the company, shortly after the merger of Daimler and Benz. Chief Engineer, Ferdinand Porsche built a powerful, yet versatile automobile – a true all-rounder, at home on the race track, hill climbs and providing exhilarating driving for the road. The signature engineering feature was its ‘on demand’ Roots type supercharger, which only kicked in when the accelerator was fully depressed, boosting power output from 120 to 180 brake horsepower for a few glorious seconds!
1886 Karl Benz “Patent Motorwagen”
The Benz Patent-Motorwagen (“patent motorcar”), built by the German Engineer Karl Benz, is widely regarded as the first practical modern automobile and was the first car ever put into production.
To celebrate the creation single-cylinder 2/3hp automobile, we will showcasing an exact replica along side modern Supercars to demonstrate how the automobile has developed over the last 140 years.
